“Night Shift”
Zooming onto a desk, a table lamp playfully shines light on the intricate craft of making by hand.
Artist at work! Details on a table are shown via toy parts, tools, tiny storage drawers and little helper “elves”, making up a toy sculptor’s workspace. The artwork plays with light and intricate details, mirroring the toy making process.
A section of the artwork is dedicated to a display of unique collectibles. This is based on the insight that most toy sculptors have their own inspiring collections too.
Hidden nuggets in this artwork pay tribute to our small but strong local scene of toy sculptors. The artist includes a survey of the scene’s history, hiding relevant event posters and locally made collectible toys that enthusiasts might recognise.
