A collaboration with Technogym
This artwork takes inspiration from the ornamental style of the blue Chinese porcelain that we’ve encountered in our communities and homes. Each bowl tells a unique story through it’s beautiful designs, while also serving a functional purpose. It reminds me of Singapore’s past as a flourishing trading hub, where traders from China, India, and Java mingled and treasured blue-and-white porcelain for it’s splendid colour, material, and shape.
As Singapore’s heritage evolves and new connections are made, elements from different cultures are showcased in the way we preserve and reinvent Modern Asian architecture. This is also seen in the flora and fauna, where both natural and deliberate importation of different species have made a home here. The artwork brings together the organic and structural elements of Singapore's Garden City, where nature and architecture harmoniously coexist. It is a beautiful reflection of Singapore's rich heritage and the role it played as a trading port.
Just like how Singapore’s architecture brings together elements from different communities, the Technogym Bench, like the porcelain bowl, serves as the perfect canvas for this artwork. Functionally, the Technogym Bench brings together different training tools into one package, offering diverse training experiences to complement the individual’s training goal. At the same time, it’s sleek design also seamlessly integrates into the look and feel of a wellness space for your home.
